James Brolin

James Brolin (born July 18, 1940) is an American actor, producer and director, best known for his roles in soap operas, movies, sitcoms, and television. He is the father of actor Josh Brolin and husband of singer/actress Barbra Streisand.

Father of actor Josh Brolin (b. 1968), Jesse (b. 1972) and Molly Elizabeth (b. 1987).

His first wife, Jane, died in a car crash in 1995. This was devastating to him because after all the turmoil during their divorce, they had become friends. This friendship started when they both had to put up a brave face at a premiere for their son, Josh Brolin.

Acted in a makeup test for Planet of the Apes (1968) as “Cornelius,” the chimpanzee scientist later portrayed in the final version of the film by Roddy McDowall.

Father-in-law of Diane Lane.

Is a lifelong Democrat and supported John Kerry in the 2004 election.

Is campaigning for 2008 Democratic candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton for president.

Resides in Sherman Oaks.

Was attached to play the Col. Samuel Trautman in Rambo (2008) role after Richard Crenna died, but the role was written out of the script.

Screen-tested for the role of James Bond in Octopussy (1983), but was ruled out when Roger Moore agreed to reprise the role.

Best known by the public for his role as Dr. Steven Kiley in “Marcus Welby, M.D.” (1969), and for his starring role as Peter MacDermott in “Hotel” (1983).

Son of Helen Sue, a housewife, and Henry Bruderlin.

Has a younger brother and two younger sisters.

Attended his ex-”Hotel” (1983) co-star’s Connie Sellecca’s and John Tesh’s wedding, on 4 April 1992.
