Malcolm McDowell (born 13 June 1943) is an English actor with a career spanning over forty years.

McDowell is principally known for his roles in the controversial films If…., Caligula and A Clockwork Orange, as well as O Lucky Man!. His versatility as an actor has led to his presence in many films and television series of different genres, including Tank Girl, Star Trek Generations, the TV serial Our Friends in the North, Entourage, Heroes, Metalocalypse, animated film Bolt and the 2007 remake of Halloween and the 2009 sequel Halloween II.

His first wife, Margot Bennett, was Keir Dullea’s ex wife. Keir was the main character in Stanley Kubrick’s “2001″, while McDowell was the main character in Kubrick’s next film, “A Clockwork Orange”.

Curry first became known to audiences with his breakthrough role as Dr. Frank N. Furter in the 1975 cult movie The Rocky Horror Picture Show, then later for his roles as Rooster in the film adaption of Annie, Lord of Darkness in the film Legend (1985), Wadsworth in the movie Clue, and as Pennywise the Dancing Clown in the horror film Stephen King’s It. He played Nigel, the father in the Nickelodeon children’s TV show The Wild Thornberrys. He has performed the role of King Arthur in the Broadway hit Monty Python’s Spamalot.

Trivia:

Provided the voice of “Sir” who welcomed visitors to the Alien Encounter attraction in Tomorrowland at Walt Disney World. The Alien Encounter ride was replaced after a few years.

Has heard his own movie Dune (1984) described as “science fiction’s answer to Heaven’s Gate (1980) (which Dourif also starred in),” and he agrees totally with this summation.
